Eternal God,

Who continually creates 

morning and evening, 

Day and night,

Help us to remember that love 

Is a foundation for life

And a reflection of the light that graces our lives. 

We are commanded to love You 

With all our heart, soul and might.

Yet, we do not fulfill that love without also

Loving our neighbor and

Loving the stranger, 

beginning with a love of ourselves 

As worthy human beings 

That can serve as our basis for the

Empathy and compassion, 

Generosity and kindness

That can lead us to reach out to the people around us

And to connect in ways that are meaningful and lasting.

It is in those connections, our Creator, that we begin

To create a oneness among us

That reflects the Oneness that is You.

Eternal One,

Creator of the Universe, 

Who shines light upon this world

And into our hearts

Lead us through the darkness

So that we will not be overcome

With sadness and despair.

Guide us through the obstacles 

That life sometimes seems to place 

Along our path.

Strengthen us with wisdom 

That will direct us to choose 

Cooperation over division 

Kindness over callousness

Peace over conflict

Love over hatred

Sincere concern over indifference. 

Bind us together as one human family

Enveloped by Your Oneness 

And Your enduring presence among us.

Creator of the Universe,

Sustainer of our lives, 

Shine a light into our souls

That will enable us to better see

Our potential to act with goodness and kindness.

Serenade us with the sounds of nature

And the songs in our hearts

That bring us joy

That activate precious memories

And that challenge us to unite our voices 

In a harmonious chorus. 

Support us as we stand tall 

In the struggle for justice

In the steps we take towards true freedom 

In our desire to preserve decency and compassion

In a world that needs more respect and consideration

So that the darkness of night will not be cause for fear

But a time for contemplation and hope.  

As Your Oneness is the foundation of our existence,

May the oneness we create between us 

Suffuse our essence with the glow of Your presence.
