Eternal God,
Who brings on the evening
And the promise of a new day to come,
Help us to bring more light into our darkness.
May hope overtake despair.
May healing be a balm to any challenges to our well-being.
May compassion and empathy overcome cruelty.
May goodness suffuse our souls and deeds
So that there will be no space for indifference.
May understanding and knowledge
Leave no room for ignorance and prejudice.
May confidence in our ability to think for ourselves
And a desire to learn from the wisdom of many faiths and peoples
Lead us to recognize the interconnections
That bind humanity together.
You, Eternal One, are our guide towards our own oneness
In our homes and communities
Between neighborhoods and nations
That will reflect the Oneness
That is You.
