Theories that make sense to you but not to others?
News channels that say they are entertainment for their viewers?
From where do your truths come?
Wise family members?
Mentors?
Sacred texts?
Treasured books?
Listening to people’s stories and their hopes?
Thoughtful and experienced leaders who try to unite, despite disagreement?
Demagogue/“Messiahs” who try to divide to fuel disagreement?
Teachers?
Your life experience?
From where does your love come?
Your heart?
The fruits of your relationships?
Examples set by people who nurtured you?
Inspiration?
A Divine source?
Valued connections that hold us close?
Warm memories of those no longer with us?
From where will freedom come?
Consensus?
Disagreement that leads to compromise?
Concern for others?
Concern for yourself alone?
Coordinated peaceful action?
Conspiratorially planned use of force?
Cheerleading violent acts for a perceived cause of freedom?
History?
Equality granted to everyone?
Privilege granted to only a few, even by those who do not share in teh full measure of that privilege?
Personal, rational discussion that leads to common cause?
I don’t pretend to have all the answers for everyone else, but I know the ones that I prefer.
Sometimes we just have to ask and consider the full range of questions to get where we need to go, and see the questions in juxtaposition to decide which ones just might be right.
